ritage restoration project focused on cleaning and preserving the historic 1864 stepwell in Kho Nagoriyan, Jagatpura. This initiative aimed to restore the architectural beauty of this ancient water harvesting structure while raising awareness about heritage conservation.In Kho Nagoriyan, Jagatpura (Jaipur), there is a small but beautiful stepwell called Choti Baori (छोटी बावड़ी). It was built in 1864 by Raja Alan Singh, a king from the Khōh Kachhwaha dynasty and Chanda gotra. This area was once ruled by the Meena community. Even today, the baori holds clean water and gets full during the monsoon season.ver time, Choti Baori was forgotten. Waste, dirt, and lack of care had covered its beauty. But this is not just an old structure – it is a part of our history and culture. To bring it back to life, a cleaning and awareness drive was organized by Kartavyya Team, Baori Baisa, and Finiloop.

In the heart of Jaipur, where history whispers through temple walls and leopards roam the wild terrains of Jhalana, a movement of purpose and passion took shape. The Kartavyya Team, in collaboration with the incredible Eco Rescuers Foundation, launched a mission not just to clean, but to awaken civic pride. Together, we took a stand - against waste, against pollution, and against the casual neglect of our city's most iconic spaces. Our efforts began at the sacred Kalakya Mata Ji Temple, nestled peacefully in the heart of Jaipur. A place of worship, of cultural legacy, and spiritual energy - sadly marred by plastic waste and alcohol litter. With brooms in hand and determination in our hearts, we restored its dignity. From there, our journey led us deep into the wild - into the famous Jhalana Leopard Reserve, home to India's elusive urban leopards. As part of the \"Swachh Van Abhiyan\", dozens of volunteers worked tirelessly to clean the forest trails. Together, we collected over 200 kgs of litter, including single-use plastics, alcohol bottles and cans, food wrappers, and other non-biodegradable waste. This wasn't just a clean-up. This was a statement of responsibility. Of Kartavvya.

On 18 January 2026, Kartavyya, in collaboration with Jaipur Virasat Foundation (JVF) and Baori Baisa, organized a heritage cleaning and restoration drive at the historic Jhar Ki Baori. This magnificent stepwell has stood for over 400 years. Once an important community water source, the Baori had gradually been neglected and turned into an unofficial dumping site. Determined to restore its dignity, volunteers from Kartavyya joined hands with local residents of Jhar Village to begin the first phase of its revival. Together, the team removed more than 500 kilograms of waste, including plastic waste, discarded garlands (mala), old books, household waste, and other debris that had accumulated over many years. Every bag of waste removed brought the centuries-old heritage structure one step closer to its original beauty. The initiative was not only about cleaning a monument—it was about reconnecting the local community with its heritage. Residents actively participated in the restoration efforts, demonstrating that preserving history is a shared responsibility. To conclude the day, Jaipur Virasat Foundation and Baori Baisa organized a cultural gathering at the restored site, encouraging the community to view the Baori as a place of heritage, culture, and pride rather than as a dumping ground. The event reinforced the message that protecting our heritage requires continuous community ownership and participation.

840+ kg of waste. 200+ volunteers. 2 days. One shared purpose. Nahargarh Fort is more than a tourist destination it's a part of Jaipur's identity. Yet, increasing footfall has also brought increasing waste, threatening the beauty of the Aravalli landscape. On 30–31 May 2026, Kartavyya organised one of its largest-ever community-led heritage clean-up drives at Nahargarh Kund, bringing together 200+ volunteers from across Jaipur. Over two days, we removed 840+ kg of waste, carefully segregated it, and ensured its responsible disposal. This initiative was made possible through the collective support of Federation of Hospitality & Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), Baori Baissa and every volunteer who believed that protecting our heritage begins with us. The drive was never just about cleaning. It was about reminding every visitor that heritage conservation, responsible tourism and civic responsibility go hand in hand.
